Drug use in sports

Sports are all about the fun and bringing people together right? Its the best of the best athletes in the world. But when someone uses drug enhancing substances too make them better in the sport.
A-Rod Damon adjusted.jpgThis in my opinion is not only dangerous for the human body to go threw and it can have a huge conscience, but it is also considered cheating. Is it fair for someone to do drugs to make them better to others that work day and night to become a better player. Its just not fair. Now that some leagues are starting to understand the cheating concept of using drugs, they have established drug testing so that the league would know if someone was cheating or not.
Players have been found guilty from this. professional major league baseball player Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod was borned July 25 1975. He was drafted by the Seattle Marners and later on traded to the New York Yankees. He was tested positive using steroids In the middle of the season in 2013. He was the 2nd all time home run hitter. It was crazy because the guy is in his 40s and still shredding the ball... After being caught using, the MLB suspended A-Rod for the rest of the 2013 seeason and the 2014. I would be very ashamed personally. I feel that his whole carrier was a lie. All the records he has set, its all a lie. I think more professional leagues should be getting these test done because it is not only unfair because you are taking a spot away from a potential player in the minors, but it also is not fair for the league because like I said before it is in fact cheating. Whats the point of using? You got some advantages but its not like its something you should be proud of.

Lock Outs

PHOTO: NHL Senior VP and Director of Hockey Operations Brian Burke and NHL Senior VP and General Counsel Jeffrey Pash speak during lockout negotiations in New York on Jan. 7, 1995.
Sports can be very emotional at times especially when it comes to lock Outs. The question I always ask myself is how can millionaire athletes argue over just a few million dollars?
First let me tell you what a lock out in professional sports is. It is a stoppage in season, where athletes from the organizations refuse to work by any means. It is different from a strike because they don't play at all. They do this because sometimes players are not making enough money or the lawyers have problems with the league. For instance, the NHL (National Hockey League) had a lockout back in 2012 what was one of the 3 in the league of all time other than a strike back in the 1992 season. The 2012 season ended up starting up again in mid season, player 42 games out of the possible 82 they could have had if the strike never ended up happening.
The NHL is not the only league that has had numerous lock outs. The MLB ( Major League Base Ball locked out in 1994 resulting in the first cancelation of the world series in more than 90 years of MLB existance.
In my personal opinion, these leagues should have no problem with handling the money problem but why are professional athletes and agents argue so much over a little bit more of money what I always wanted to know. The leagues and teams pay these players millions and millions of dollars so that they can play the sport that they love and they are sometimes still not satisfied? People in the world can't even make what they make in a whole lifetime and thats what is just awful about it.

Salary in sports

As you all know, Professional athletes make loads of money. The sport that pays the most is a baseball player in the major league also known as the MLB. The average athlete in the MLB gets paid 4 million $ a year and still get 100$ a day for food.
My theory is, you have people in the world working hard to get into university and too continue and get the job they want and be paid a fair amount but you have athletes that barley do much in my opinion for example baseball pitchers only play about a third of a season so about 60 games and they are the most paid position in sports!
David Price a pitcher on the Boston Red Socks and he is being paid 217 millions of dollars for 7 seasons what averages about 6 thousand dollars per every pitch he makes. It does take talent and skill to be a professional athlete but is all that money really needed in a life time?
All sports are different though. It all depends on the money the fans are bringing into the organization. Obviously, a hockey arena can only fit up too 22 thousand people being the biggest arena, but the stadiums in the NFL and the MLB can seat up too 80 thousand people so some sports are making more profit than others what makes the salary for a baseball and football player more than a hockey player.
Its all about the behind of the scenes in pro sports. If fans just stopped showing up to games I don't think sports would even be a thing. What happend to just the fun days when everyone just had fun? Now it is all about the money and it really concerns me.

corruption in sports

Professional sports have been around forever. But sports can not always be fair to everyone. Today im going to be sharing my opinion and talking about my  2 favourite  scandals in pro sports.
. A canadien attorny named Alan Eagleson was one of the most loyal NHL agents of his century and was elected to be the director of the NHLPA ( National Hockey League Players Association). The FBI soon charged him with 34 different counts of fraud using the players profit for his own personal belongings. He was soon taken off the wall of best agents at the hockey hall of fame in Toronto, Ontario. My opinion on this is why? Using other athletes sucess for your own family even though you're being honoured by the National hockey league, one of the best organizations out there?

And we have the best for last. The sport that brings the world together, Soccer. In 2015, 7 officials of FIFA ( International federation of football) were arrested at the Hotel Burr preparing the attend the 65th FIFA congress what was scheduled to elect the new president of fifa because they have accepted 150 millions of dollars in bribes in US dollars what averages about 210 million dollars in CA. This had an impact on the world of sports especially FIFA fans because how are we supposed to believe what we watch now that the organization is in fact corrupt? It makes you wonder how Qatar got the 2022 Fifa World Cup instead of bigger and better countries! After the President stepping down from his seating in FIFA, the organization needs to find a way to fix all the damage that has been done. This may not be the only sport that is corrupt but being known as the Worlds sport why them?

concussions

Hi my name is philip. I am 16 years old but not only am I being forced to write this blog, but I also do enjoy talking about sports. Injuries are a main problem in sports and ill be talking about concussions who have huge impact on athletes lives even after the retire from the sport.
So what are concussions? Concussions are caused  contact to the head causing your brain to shake or shift causing headaches after headaches.
A movie that was released December 25th 2015 and it told a story about a Dr that was doing an autopsy on a retired football player and found nothing wrong with his body that caused his death so he did a brain autopsy and figured out the problem so he fought the problem.
Concussions might not affect someone during the game and maybe for a while but after being retired you can get symptoms and your brain can dissolve into pieces what leads the person not even knowing who they are anymore and doing things they would not normally do. Also, as I said that you may not even realize you have a concussion during the game, trainers and coaches would give them pain meds and things to freeze you up so the player could go back out there.
concussion gif.gifThis situation made it worse for the athlete because it was only make the brain worse. In my opinion most of these situations happen in football because football is a sport that uses their heads more and more every year. The coaches encourage the players to go down with their head what makes the chances of getting hit to the head and getting a concussion more likely.
The sport has evolved into more than just a body sport and this is not always a good thing.
